February 5th - Critz Tybee Run Half Marathon & 5k - 8:00am
Half marathon begins at Butler & 15th. 5k begins at the Historic Tybee Lighthouse. Visit www.critztybeerun.com for details, course and registration.

March 4-5th - Mardi Gras Celebration - Parade at 1pm
Join in the fun for Tybee’s 2nd annual Mardi Gras celebration! Festivities include a Mardi Gras Parade, Masquerade Ball, Live Entertainment & more! The parade is on Saturday at 1pm...on Butler Ave. Visit Mardi Gras Schedule of Events for information.

March 12th - Tybee Island Irish Heritage Celebration Parade - 3pm
Celebrate like your Irish... Tybee style! Parade begins at 3pm at Memorial Park, proceeds down Butler Avenue, left on Tybrisa Street, and ends on the Strand.

April 15-17th - Tybee Wine Festival
Bring your beach chairs and friends on the 17th and enjoy a beautiful Spring afternoon on the Tybee Lighthouse grounds tasting 100+ wines from around the world! Benefitting The Tybee Post Theater. Visit http://tybeewinefestival.com for more information.

April 21st - Third Thursdays on Tybee - 5:30-6:30
Join us on Tybrisa Street in "downtown" Tybee at the Strand Roundabout for a musical delight featuring local musicians.

 

April 30th - 7th Annual Turtle Trot 5k Tybee Beach Run - Sign In at 7:30am; Race begins at 8:30am
Fundraiser for the Tybee Island Sea turtle Project and kick-off for Coastal Georgia's Sea Turtle Nesting Season! Race begins at the Tybee Island Pier & Pavilion. Visit http://tybeemarinescience.org/turtle-trot for more information.

 

May 6th - SCAD Sand Arts Festival
10am - 4pm - North Beach area-The festival features competitions in sand castle design, sand sculpture, sand relief and wind sculpture. The event is free and open to the public. Judging is from 3-4pm. Call 912-525-5263 for more information.

 

May 19th - Third Thursdays on Tybee - 5:30-6:30
Join us at the lot at Tybee Oaks Shopping Center (on Hwy 80 where Huc-a-poo's is located) for a musical delight featuring local musicians.

 

May 20th - 25th Annual Beach Bum Parade - 6:30pm
Join us for the world famous Beach Bum Parade on Butler Avenue - a wet & wild adventure like no other. Bring your water guns!!!

 

May 21st - EVP Tour Pro-Am Beach Volleyball

May 21st - The Tybee 500
Annual 500 mile catamaran race from Islamorada, FL, to Tybee Island! Watch the catamaran's sail to the finish line. Visit www.tybee500.com for all the details.

 

June 4th - Tybee Tour of Homes - 10:00am-4:00pm

July 3rd - Fireworks at The Pier

Join us on the beach for a spectacular fireworks show starting at dark.

 

September 4th - Labor Day Beach Bash at The Pier
Enjoy the ocean breezes, while live music fills the air from the Tybee Island Pier & Pavilion. Come to the 4th Annual Labor Day Beach Bash featuring free live entertainment & fireworks on the beach. For more details, visit www.tybeefest.com

October 7th - The 7th Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest
AHOY MATES! Swashbucklers of all ages will be converging on Tybee Island to participate in the 7th Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest! Don your most colorful pirate’s costume, and gather your Krewe of marauding buccaneers, because Tybee will be overrun and invaded by pirates. For more details, visit www.tybeefest.com

December 31st - New Year’s Eve Fireworks
Bring in the New Year with a bang! Enjoy the show launched from the Tybee Pier a the stroke of midnight at one of Tybee’s many restaurants and bars, or watch it from the beach. It promises to be spectacular! 

January 1, 2012 - Polar Bear Plunge
The annual polar bear plunge on new year's day at noon - don't be late or you'll miss it!!!! Wash away all of 2011 by jumping in the ocean, or just come watch the fun!
